“For in that sleep of death what dreams may come when we have shuffled off this mortal coil, must give us pause.” Dreams fascinate the mind while the death is beyond this stimulation of senses which vanishes once we open our eyes. It seems to me that dream has been an interested topic of people for ages. And the Hollywood is willing to make movies in whatever topics people interested, including dreams. Here let’s look at some of the popular dream movies.

What Dreams May Come

Strictly speaking this movie is not about dreams. The story in this film came from an old tale book of the same title. It talks about a couple who lost their beloved children in a car crash. The Neurologist Chris played by Robin Williams then died, too. He went to his own afterlife which was a world composed by the artwork of his wife, Annie (Annabella Sciorra). Chris knew that Annie killed herself which would make her stay in despair forever. Chris then travel between heaven and hell to save Annie.

The computer graphic is gorgeous. The film won the Oscar award of special effects. It created an imaginary universe which itself is a delight to watch. The story was quite touching, too. But world view does not compile with what is taught in the Bible. Whoever dies without the Holy Spirit received through the faith of Jesus Christ goes straightly to hell and in there wait for the final judgment and be cast into the lake of fire.

The Cell

Yet another film about serial killer. This film is closer to dream interpretation. A schizoid serial killer was caught by in coma. The FBI tries to save the final victim who was still living and hidden somewhere by the killer. They used a new neurology technology to enter into the killer’s mind. The film then becomes a show of weird and wild visual show of computer graphical imaginations. There is not much to think about but the graphical effects are quite exciting to watch. I personally do not recommend watching too many films about serial killer because it probably does not leave your soul any good effects.

Dreamscape

A classic old film published in 1984. It is still interesting to watch even today. The surreal images in the film would probably leave an impression in your mind, even turns into a dream of your own perhaps.

This is one of the real dream movies which have the whole story closely linked to dreams. It talks about a new scientific project about so called dreamlinking. Dreamlinking is basically to bring someone else into someone’s dream. The purpose of such research was to help people suffering with nightmares, but turn out there was some sort of conspiracy behind, like dream assassins. Lol….

Waking Life

This is a very original movie, both the ideas and the visual elements. The protagonist tries to separates dreams from the reality. The movie takes you through the wild imagination of his mind. The whole movie is in dreams. You may find it quite hard to understand with pieces of information here and there. Exactly like what dream is. The wonderful animations would keep you engaged.

Vanilla Sky

This has to be my favorite dream movies. It was adapted from the thriller Open Your Eyes. You might find it quite hard to understand at some points, but don’t worry, everything would become clear once you open your eyes. Unluckily, I can’t say too much of it, otherwise it loses the point to watch this great dream movie. Watch it.

Animals are all around our daily lives including our dreams, but some of the animals do appear in our dreams more often than others like Dogs, Cats, Snakes and Bears. There are different meanings for the different animals that you encountered in your dreams.

Dreaming of dogs and cats are usual and the meaning actually vary. In all, Dogs give the feeling of loyalty and friendship on one hand, and raid on the other hand. When they come together, the God may indeed want to say to you that there is something wrong in your friendship (maybe loyalty) that you may find your friend deceive or betray you.

Likewise, Cats in dreams can be analyzed with both good and bad sides. Usually women have cats in their dreams more often than men. Cats in dreams can mean love or for the bad side, something devious, mysterious (and can be related to witchcraft).

If it is true that you have kept or are keeping dogs and cats as your pets, you may actually find the dreams more related to some of the emotions or the period that you are keeping them.

Snakes appear in dreams very frequently, unluckily what snakes symbolize may not be good. Snake in Bible is referred as equivalent to the Dragon and Satan. Even in our daily lives, snakes are regarded as the greedy, serpent, occult and attacking. So, depends on where you actually saw the snakes, there may be secret attacks.

Bear has the image of possessive and devouring. With such nature in bears, it induces fear in human. In Bible, there is a beast with the feet of a bear which received the power from Satan. Definitely, dreaming of a bear reveals the fear inside you as the bear is so powerful to you which allows you have no control over yourselves but full obedience or otherwise mistreatment.

The symbols of animals can vary from culture to culture, for example, in China, if the pregnant woman dreamed of a bear, it can mean she is going to have a baby boy. You may consider the cultural aspect of the symbols of animals, but do not simply deceive yourself when you know there can be something wrong, as you have to listen when the God prompt you.

In your dreams, things may actually take place in a place or in a way that you are so familiar with like in your House, when you are going to School, something to do with your Teeth. Well do not try to comfort yourselves these dreams happened only because you faced such situation in your everyday lives, be ready to know the message behind the dreams.

Dreaming of you House or dreaming something happened in your house can be so common that it squeezes into the top 5 most common dreams. House in your dreams may signify your own lives, you may sometimes find that even you are in your own house, the inside of the house in dreams can be very different from that in your reality life. What is happening in the house is highly related to what happened and will happen to you. Every rooms in your house can mean differently, for example bedroom may relate to intimacy while living or dining room can be something to do with your whole family. Keep an eye on the specific room that God show you in your dreams and notice the difference.

Even though you are not a student and you are already graduated and working now, you can still have dreams about School. Not just going to school, but also taking some kind of test, which can be interpreted as enhancement and promotion. You may also be finding the classroom for your next lessons, which can mean help is needed in your life. School is a place for learning, so whenever you dreamed of something happened in school, the learning meaning is implied there. You may need learning for your spiritual enhancement, seeking help from others, learning from failures, etc.

Remember when you are a child, you must going through the process of milk teeth falling out and being replaced by the permanent teeth. This process usually happened when you are six and it is the time you really started to understand everything well. Teeth in your dreams, therefore always represent wisdom. Unluckily, if you dream of teeth, it does not necessarily mean that you have wisdom. What the dream is telling you is depends on the condition of your teeth, there is different messages God to tell you about your wisdom. For example, your teeth are so shinny and healthy, this may mean you have the wisdom from God and you are working well with it, on the other hand, you may have tooth decay which may be telling you that your wisdom from God is decaying due to your encounters in the world, so you need to seek God’s wisdom more than the world’s wisdom.

I’m sure comfortable bedding affects your sleep quality, too. Check out Down Comforters for more information on getting a warm, peaceful night’s rest. For people who suffer from insomnia, you can how to fall asleep fast so you can start dreaming a lot faster at night.

Many people have the strange or unusual encounter in dreams explained as their various creative imaginations during the day. Most common dreams for unusual encounter include Flying, Falling, Naked and Gong through the doors.

Dreams about Flying usually indicate spiritual enhancement. As you fly in the sky, you are much closer to the heavenly Father compared to when you are standing on the ground. It is definitely an encouragement to you over your difficulties. Sometimes, you may not experience a really enjoyable flying trip, instead, you put so much effort to get started flying, it is also true for your own life that you have to put effort in order to reach the heavenly Father who is always there waiting for you.

How do you feel if you are falling from a 25-stories building? Definitely a word comes to your mind, FEAR. When you have dreams about falling, something has to be done with fear. You can know more about your own fear by paying attention to when you are falling from, things happened during your falling and where you are falling into or onto.

When you are naked, every part of you can be seen by someone else. If you are naked in your dreams, very often, there is no way for you to hide and you are forced to expose yourselves. The interpretation for this dream can be inadequate transparency in your feelings to God who really wants to listen to your true heart and most importantly, the freedom that you can get when you are willing to uncover your secret to God readily.

When you dream of a door, it can mean new opportunities from God. God always opens the door for His people when they are desperate and helpless. When you go through the doors in your dreams, meaning changes to your problems or situation are followed by. When you have such dreams, what you should do is to pray really hard to facilitate God’ s opened door in God’s own word as the door opened by God is not going to be closed by anybody.

As these strange encounters in your dreams can really have different meanings in respect to different interpretations, you must be very careful that not to have the dream interpretation in your own way (misdirection from Satan), but always seek revelation and confirmation from God.

Every day, people may face birth and death and we have centuries of questions about the mystery in Birth and Death. The same applies to dreamers; it is so common for them to dream about Birth and Death.

Dreaming of birth of a child can be one of the top twenty dreams that people have. If you have dreams of birth of children, it does not necessarily mean you are going to be pregnant and have babies. Instead, Birth relates to a new-born child who actually signifies the new page, new goal, new challenge and new level of your lives, or in other words, God has prepared something new for you. In this case, you must be so eager to know what new plan God has in you, then it comes to an important point. It seems impossible to know what is God’s new plan as you always know God’s will is higher than ours and most usually, until you have reached to the very end point, you seldom know what is God’s real plan. However, in your dreams, you can get the hints from the details in the dreams. If you have dreams about birth of children, remember the babies’ names. The new-born babies’ name can be a very good disclosure to what the God’s new plan on you. Remember, why we have the impression that it is so difficult to know God’s plan or will as mentioned above is actually not true, God is trying to catch our attention and show us his great plan on us, it is difficult for us to get the message is because we are too busy and that our antenna is therefore not on the right channel.

Death is the other end of birth and same as birth, it is such a popular topic for our dreams. Most of the people on earth probably have dreams about themselves or their relatives dying or died.

Clearly, if you dream about yourselves dying, the dreams are definitely disclosing something related to yourselves. It is usually not the case that the God is telling you that you are going to die, but something has to be away or separated from your lives. For example, if you dream about your own death, you may think the God is going to take your life, but actually, the God who is so merciful wants to heal you. If you see your resurrected body, it is a great signature that you are healed by God already.

Sometimes, instead of dreaming yourselves dying or died, you can have dreams about the death of your relatives. Your relatives and you are bonded in some kind of generational affairs which can be both good and bad to you. What they have done in the past may be blessings or curses to their later generations just like what have been mentioned in the Bible. You may be blessed because your Grandfather delighted the God or if your Grandmother had worshiped idol, the curses (can be in form of illness) is on you even though you believe God.

Dreams are really one way of communications that God always use, so pay attention to every details that you remember from the dreams, it is God’s clue for you. Then, get confirmation from God of his plan or message for you!

You must have experienced some weird dreams that you feel is full of meanings yet you cannot get a hold of them. You may want to know what causes dreams. Well, if you would like to learn to understand the dreams you dream, you have come to the right place.

First, you must understand that in order for you to understand and interpret a dream correctly, it takes the grace of God. Only if you are given a revelation from God, you can understand your dreams correctly and let that work for your good. Take dreams as a way of communication that God uses to talk to you. When a person is asleep, his/her consciousness is at rest, that way it is easy for our own spirit to receive messages from God. Since it is one of the ways that God talks, a dream dictionary is not exactly useful for interpretation of a dream. God can use the same symbol in different dreams of different people to represent different things. The most important things we need are divine wisdom and revelation, intelligence of man is not the best when it comes to understanding a message from God.

The good news is that we all have a super personal tutor who knows the heart of God extremely well – the Holy Spirit. Holy Spirit is God. Every person who truly believes in Jesus Christ has the Holy Spirit dwelling in them. The Holy Spirit teaches you all things and brings to your remembrance all that Jesus said to you. In all of our discussion about dream interpretation, we need the help of the Holy Spirit. We need His guidance. We need His wisdom, knowledge and revelation. We need Him!

The Bible says “You do not have because you do not ask”. But “How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed?” Therefore, dream interpretation 101 is to believe and know the Holy Spirit.

Holy Spirit is God, the third person in the Trinity. He is the matchless teacher. He is as close to you as your breath. He is with you wherever you go. He loves you like the Father loves Jesus. He would guide you through the best path in your life if you are willing to listen and submit to Him humbly. He is gentle. He is your best friend. Yet He would convicts you of sin strongly. He would speak truth to you, coach you in your pursuit to God, and open up the Word of God to you with revelation. He would tell you the meaning of your dreams!

It is the best thing in your life to have the right to talk to the Holy Spirit and have relationship with Him and love Him! If you have not yet received the Holy Spirit, you can do the following prayer:

Christ Jesus, I believe that you are the son of God. I believe that you died for my sin and rose up again after three days. I admit that I am a sinner and I repent. I accept You, Jesus, as my personal savior and the Lord of my life. Thank you for your salvation.

Dear Holy Spirit, I welcome you into my heart, to be my God, my counselor and my friend. Please give me wisdom and revelation to understand my dreams!

In the name of Jesus I pray. Amen.

Paise Jesus! And congratulations for you have just received the Holy Spirit and everlasting life! You have completed the first and the most important step in understanding your dream meanings. We’ll go on and talk about different kinds of dreams which people commonly have.
